On August 5th, our team of five British climbers will depart for the AkBaikal valley of Tajikistan’s Muzkol Range. Our objective is to attempt the unclimbed summits that line the back wall of the glacier.

Whilst on expedition, we will be posting messages live to this page using the SPOT tracker and satphone. We may not always be able to post and sometimes the messages might not make it, so don't worry if you don't hear from us for a few days. We may also be climbing in different teams, so messages may appear close together from locations a long way apart.
You can also follow the twitter page to see the whole feed, in case this page is broken. Please tweet us @muzkol2015 and we will have a look when we are back from the hills.
In August 2015, George, Clay, Emily, Al and James will travel to the Muzkol Range of Tajikistan to attempt a series of unclimbed peaks which form a stunning ridgeline around the back of the AkBaikal valley. We will fly into Osh, Kyrgyzstan, before travelling overland along the famous M41 Pamir Highway into the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region. Leaving the road, we will walk into the valley to establish a basecamp, acclimatize and begin climbing. The expedition is generously supported by the Mount Everest Foundation, the British Mountaineering Council and the Alpine Club.
The photos on this page were provided by Oleg Silin who travelled with a Latvian team to the area in 2014. They have written a Russian language report of their expedition here: http://www.traverss.lv
The expedition is being generously supported by the Mount Everest Foundation, the British Mountaineering Council, the Alpine Club, the Austrian Alpine Club UK (OeAV Sektion Britannia) and Alpkit.
